Area Experiences 37 Percent Jump in Poverty Rate
The Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program (www.brookings.edu) has released its study, “The Re-Emergence of Concentrated Poverty: Metropolitan Trends of the 2000s,” which ranks Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice as being the No. 1 metro area with the “greatest primary city increases” in the concentrated poverty rate.
